A great Bed

A good night’s sleep is important. We had sleepless nights agonizing over what mattress to choose.

We opted for a box spring with a cold foam mattress, 1000 micropocket coil springs, 7 comfort zones, 21 centimeters thick, 210 cm long  and 180 cm wide – or actually 2 times 90 cm.

One half of the bed has a “firm” mattress, suitable for + 80 kg; the other half of the bed has a “medium” mattress, suitable for -80 kg.

Because the pocket springs are loosely packed in non-woven bags, each spring adapts to the shape of your body and the pressure is well distributed over each spring. In addition, the comfort zones ensure that each part of the body is supported individually, never too hard or too soft in places where this is important.

A pocket spring mattress also ventilates excellently and feels cool: cold foam has an open cellular structure so that perspiration is easily distributed in the mattress and because there is space between the springs (the inside of the mattress is hollow), every time you turn in your sleep, fresh air is sucked in and heat is squeezed out of the mattress. This makes the mattress extremely anti-allergic.

We opted for 10 cm thick memory foam topper. Even more comfort and even better weight distribution. Memory foam can dissipate perspiration faster and regulates heat well, but the big advantage is the unparalleled point elasticity, and therefore accurate support: the first contact makes the mattress feel firmer, but after a few minutes the material reacts to the body heat and the mattress becomes considerably softer.

Fresh linen and towels

Obviously, every visitor starts with freshly washed bath and bed linen.

For environmental reasons, we provide one set of linen for guests who stay Weekend to Midweek. Guests staying for a week receive a fresh set of towels halfway through.

Coffee and tea in self-service

The kitchen is equiped with a coffee maker, a French press and an electric kettle; there is coffee, tea, milk and sugar.

We have chosen not to place a minibar in the bedroom. Guests can use kitchen fridge and freezer.

Free broadband internet

Free WiFi available. Each room is equipped with sockets for ethernet RJ45 plug-in.

Parking and bike storage

There is a bicycle rack at the Guesthouse and in car port. On the side wall of the Guest House is a garden hose to hose down your bike.

Cleaning

Everything is immaculate upon your arrival, we also take care of the final cleaning.

We expect you to leave the premises broom clean. This also means: putting everything back in its place, oven and bbq cleaned, fridge and freezer empty and clean. We understand that the last dishwasher is not emptied.

We do not clean during your stay (less than 7 days); it’s up to you to clearing the dining table and to fill and empty the dishwasher.

A traditional Breakfast

The B&B formula and the Full House formula can be booked with or without breakfast.

Extensive continental breakfast with coffee or tea; bread rolls and croissants with butter, jam, ham, cheese, chocolate and speculoos spread; yogurt, fresh fruit juice and fruit salad.

You can enjoy breakfast in the breakfast room or, weather permitting, on the sun terrace with scenic view.

Hint: breakfast at Talbot House

A visit to Talbot House is highly recommended, for the museum and for its full English breakfast with warm tomatoes, mushrooms, warm sausage, beans, toast, bacon and eggs in the attractive canteen or beautiful garden (Gasthuisstraat 43, 8970 Poperinge; 16 km from De Kleine Mote).

Toddler bed

On request, a toddler bed (60×120 cm, anti-allergic mattress, polyether foam 8 cm, sheets and blankets) can be placed in the bedroom. An additional charge applies for this service.

Also on request, a high chair can also be placed in the dining room.

Early check-in, Late check-out

On request, almost always, Check-in can be brought forward (from 5:00 pm to 10:00 am) and Check-out can be delayed (from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm). An additional charge applies for this service.

Kitchen

Exceptionally, on the rare occasion that there are no other guests, our B&B guest can have exclusive use of kitchen & sitting area to prepare lunch or dinner. An additional charge applies for this service.

Personal Guide

Depending on the availability of the guide, De Kleine Mote offers a guided tour (on foot, by bike or by car); afternoon or whole day.

Full House extra service

Self Catering

Full House guests have free use of a fully equipped kitchen: stove with range and oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, sink with running hot and cold water, dishwasher, countertop and utensils. There is a BBQ, no fryer.

We provide oil, vinegar, basic spices, kitchen paper, garbage bags, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets.

Fire Pit

Full House guests can light a fire, we provide the firewood.

Day and night, hands down the cosiest place in Heuvelland: a bench woven from willow branches, around the firebowl, by the pond. Sheltered from view and wind, with beautiful outlook.

Play Barn

Full house guests have access to the Play Barn; a super man cave with basket ball, table tennis, soccer table, darts.

Full House guests can hire the barn for events. An additional charge applies. Contact us for details.

Pet

Pets are not allowed, with exception for assistance (service) dogs.
